Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions Increase (Northern Ireland Reserved Services) Regulations 1976, and shall come into operation on 4th March 1976.

Section 2

(1) Any reference in these Regulations to any enactment is a reference to that enactment as amended by or under, and includes a reference to that enactment as extended or applied by, any other enactment; and in this paragraph “ enactment ” includes an enactment of the Parliament of Northern Ireland .

(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 3

The Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 shall have effect in relation to the pensions specified in the Schedule to these Regulations as if they were specified in Part I of Schedule 2 to that Act.

Section 4

Any increase of pension payable by virtue of these Regulations shall take effect from 1st October 1975.

Section 1

A pension payable out of moneys provided by Parliament by virtue of section 12 of the Administration of Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 (caretakers of court-houses).

Section 2

A pension payable by way of compensation to Civil Defence employees under Regulations made under section 4 of the Public Expenditure and Receipts Act (Northern Ireland) 1968.

Section 3

A pension payable by virtue of section 6 of the Summary Jurisdiction and Criminal Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 1935 (resident magistrates).
