Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Energy Act 1976 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1976.

Section 2

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 3

The following provisions of the Energy Act 1976 shall come into operation on 1st January 1977:—

(a) section 7 (fuel stocks at power stations);

(b) section 14 (fuelling of new and converted power stations);

(c) section 15 (passenger car fuel consumption);

(d) section 16 (finance for power projects); and

(e) sections 17 (orders and directions), 18 (administration, enforcement and offences), 19 (penalties), 20 (financial provision), 21 (interpretation) and Schedules 2 (administration and other matters) and 3 (Community obligations of which a breach is punishable under this Act) so far as they relate to the provisions specified in paragraphs (a) to (d) above or provision made under them or to the obligations specified in Schedule 3.
