Section 1 Citation, extent and commencement

This scheme, which may be cited as the Milk (Eradication of Brucellosis) (Variation) Scheme 1976, shall apply to the United Kingdom and shall come into operation on 1st April 1976.

Section 2 Interpretation

(1) In this scheme “ the principal scheme ” means the Milk (Eradication of Brucellosis) Scheme 1970 as varied by the Milk (Eradication of Brucellosis) (Variation) Scheme 1971 and the Milk (Eradication of Brucellosis) (Variation) Scheme 1972 .

(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this scheme as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 3 Amendment of the principal scheme

(1) Paragraph 4(1) of the principal scheme shall be further varied by adding at the end thereof, the words “and in relation to producers in Scotland on or after 1st April 1976 the rate of payment shall be 0.176p per litre, and in relation to producers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on or after 1st October 1976 the rate of payment shall be 0.176p per litre.”

(2) Paragraph 4(1) of the principal scheme as amended by sub-paragraph (2) of that paragraph and as varied by the preceding sub-paragraph shall have effect as set out in the Schedule to this scheme.
