Section 1 Citation

This Order may be cited as the Employment Agencies Act 1973 (Commencement) Order 1976.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“ the Act ” means the Employment Agencies Act 1973;

“ local authority licence ” means a licence granted under an enactment repealed by or under the Act.

Section 3 Appointed dates

(1) All the provisions of the Act, except for section 1, shall come into force on 1st July 1976.

(2) Section 1 of the Act shall come into force—

(a) in relation to any person to whom subsection (3) of section 1 of the Act applies for the purpose of any employment agency carried on by him under the authority of a local authority licence, on 30th June 1976; and

(b) for all other purposes, on 1st November 1976.
