The Savings Contracts (Amendment) Regulations 1977

Section 1

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Savings Contracts (Amendment) Regulations 1977, and shall come into operation on 1st September 1977.

(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 2

The Savings Contracts Regulations 1969 , as amended , shall be further amended as follows:—

(a) in Regulation 2(1) by inserting, after the definition of “the authority” , the following definition:—

“ Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies ”, except in the application of these Regulations to Scotland, means the Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies or a deputy appointed by him;

(b) by deleting Regulation 28(2)(f).
