Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These regulations may be cited as the British Wool Marketing Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 1977 and shall come into operation on 18th November 1977.

(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of these regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 2 Amendment of the British Wool Marketing Scheme

The British Wool Marketing Scheme 1950 as amended shall be further amended as follows:—

(a) by substituting therein for the words “per pound” or “per lb.” wherever they appear the words “per kilogram” ;

(b) by substituting in paragraph 71(5) thereof as amended, by section 10 of the Decimal Currency Act 1969, for the figures “2.5p” the figures “5.5p” ;

(c) by substituting in paragraph 79 thereof, as amended as aforesaid, for the figures “0.417p” the figures “1.0p” ; and

(d) by substituting in paragraph 88(4) thereof, as amended as aforesaid, for the figures “0.208p” the figures “0.5p” .
