Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Energy Act 1976 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1977.

Section 2

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

Section 3

The following provisions of the Energy Act 1976 shall come into operation on 1st May 1977:—

(a) sections 8 to 11 (offshore natural gas);

(b) section 12 (disposal of gas by flaring etc. );

(c) sections 17 to 22 and Schedules 2 and 4 (miscellaneous and general) so far as not already in operation.
