The Local Authorities (Armorial Bearings) Order 1979

Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Armorial Bearings) Order 1979 and shall come into operation on 14th August 1979.

Section 2

Subject to Article 3 of this Order, there is hereby authorised the bearing and use by the Town Council of Hexham of the armorial bearings lawfully borne and used before 1st April 1974 by the urban district council of Hexham.

Section 3

The armorial bearings the bearing and use of which is authorised by Article 2 of this Order shall be first exemplified according to the laws of arms and recorded in the College of Arms, otherwise such authority shall be void and of no effect.
