Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Special Constables (Pensions) (Amendment) Regulations 1980.

Section 2

These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st October 1980 and shall have effect for the purposes of Regulation 3 as from 1st September 1978.

Section 3

(1) In the application of the Police Pensions Regulations 1973 to the calculation of awards under the Special Constables (Pensions) Regulations 1973 , the first mentioned Regulations shall apply as amended by the Police Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1980 (which increased pensionable pay for the period 1st September 1978 to 30th April 1979).

(2) In accordance with paragraph (1) of this Regulation, for Regulation 3(1) of the Special Constables (Pensions) Regulations 1973 (which defines the expression “the principal Regulations” ) there shall be substituted the following paragraph:—

(1) In these Regulations the expression “ the principal Regulations ” means the Police Pensions Regulations 1973 as amended by the Police Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1974, the Police Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1975, the Police Pensions (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 1978 and the Police Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1980
