The Education Act 1944 (Termination of Grants) Order 1980

Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Education Act 1944 (Termination of Grants) Order 1980 and, subject to its having been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament, shall come into operation on 14th July 1980.

Section 2

Subject to Regulation 3 below—

(a) with effect from 14th July 1980, no grant shall be paid to a local education authority in pursuance of section 100(1)(a)(iii) of the Education Act 1944 (grants in respect of expenditure in respect of removing defence works etc. );

(b) the said section 100(1)(a)(iii) is hereby repealed.

Section 3

Nothing in this Order shall affect the payment of grant in respect of expenditure incurred before 14th July 1980 and notified to the Secretary of State not later than 31st March 1981.
