Section 1Citation and interpretation
(1) This order may be cited as the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1980.
(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1979.

Section 2Appointed days
(1) The day appointed for the coming into operation of any provision of the Act specified in the first column of Part I of the Schedule to this order shall be 15th September 1980.
(2) The day appointed for the coming into operation of any provision of the Act specified in the first column of Part II of the Schedule to this order shall be 1st November 1980.
(3) Nothing contained in this order shall constitute the appointed day within the meaning of section 5(10) of the Act or of paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 thereto.
