Section 1 Commencement and Citation

This Order shall come into operation on 30th December 1981 and may be cited as the British Railways Pension Scheme (Unfunded Proportions) (No. 2) Order 1981.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“ B.R. pension scheme ” has the meaning given by Section 60 of the Transport Act 1980;

“ the relevant pension obligations ” has the meaning given by Section 53 of the Transport Act 1980.

Section 3 Application of Order

This Order applies to the B.R. pension schemes listed in column (1) of the Schedule to this Order.

Section 4 Determination of Unfunded Proportion

The proportion of the relevant pension obligations which has not been funded in relation to each B.R. pension scheme listed in column (1) of the Schedule to this Order is determined to be the proportion shown in column (2) of that Schedule.

Section 5 Supplemental

This Order confirms or varies all previous determinations of the proportion of relevant pension obligations which has not been funded, made by the Secretary of State in relation to each of the B.R. pension schemes listed in column (1) of the Schedule to this Order as stated in column (3) of that Schedule.
