Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Gasholders and Steam Boilers Regulations (Metrication) Regulations 1981 and shall come into operation on 1st July 1981.

Section 2 Revocation relating to the Gasholders (Record of Examinations) Order 1938

In Article 1(iv)(b) of the Gasholders (Record of Examinations) Order 1938 the words “in cubic feet” are hereby revoked.

Section 3 Amendments to the Examination of Steam Boilers Regulations 1964 to substitute metric measurements for imperial measurements

The provisions of the Examination of Steam Boilers Regulations 1964 specified in the Schedule to these Regulations in column 1 shall be amended by substituting for the measurements set out opposite thereto in column 3 the measurements set out in the corresponding entry in column 4.
