Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Amendment) Regulations 1982.

Section 2

These Regulations shall come into operation on 12th April 1982 and shall have effect for the purposes of Regulation 3(d) as from 1st September 1981.

Section 3

The Police Cadets Regulations 1979 shall be amended as follows:—

(a) after Regulation 4 there shall be inserted the following Regulation:—

Notice of conditions of service

(4A) A candidate for appointment as a police cadet shall be given a notice describing the conditions of service relating to the appointment.

(b) in paragraph (5) of Regulation 5 (termination of service), the words “for misconduct” shall be omitted;

(c) Regulation 12 (medical examination) shall be omitted;

(d) for the Table in Schedule 2 (scales of pay) there shall be substituted the following Table:—

(e) for paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 (charge for board and lodging) there shall be substituted the following paragraph:—

(2) The annual rate of charge shall be—

(a) in the case of a police cadet attached to the City of London or Metropolitan Police force, £342;

(b) in any other case, £321.
