Section 1

These Regulations shall come into operation on 15th July 1982 and may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Tests) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1982.

Section 2

The Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981 are amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.

Section 3

In Regulation 5 (Classification of Vehicles and Application of Regulations), in paragraph (1), for the words “Class II : motor bicycles other than light motor vehicles” substitute the words “Class II: motor bicycles” and for the words “Class III : Light motor vehicles” substitute the words “Class III: Light motor vehicles other than motor bicycles” .

Section 4

In Regulation 6 (Exemptions), after paragraph (1) insert the following paragraph:—

(1A) Pursuant to section 44(4) the Secretary of State hereby prescribes until 1st January 1983 public service vehicles adapted to carry more than eight passengers as a class of vehicles to which section 44 does not apply
