Section 1

These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st January 1985, and may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness, Equipment, Use and Certification) (Amendment) Regulations 1984.

Section 2

The Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness, Equipment, Use and Certification) Regulations 1981 are amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.

Section 3

For Regulation 46 (Applications and fees for certificates of initial fitness) substitute the following Regulation:—

(46)

(1) Every application for a certificate of initial fitness shall be made to the Secretary of State at the PSV Centre, Welcombe House, 91–92 The Strand, Swansea SA1 2DH and on a form to be obtained from him.

(2) The prescribed fee for a certificate of initial fitness is—

(a) on the first application, £88, and

(b) on any subsequent application—

(i) £88 if the testing which that application will require consists of or includes a test to ascertain whether or not the requirements specified in Regulation 6 are complied with;

(ii) £10 in any other case.

Section 4

In Regulation 50 (Fees for type approval)—

(a) in paragraph (a) for “£50” substitute “£554” , and for “£5” substitute “£54” .

(b) in paragraph (b) for “£25” substitute “£278” ; and

(c) in paragraph (c) for “£125” substitute “£1,180” .
