Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Specialized Agencies of the United Nations (Immunities and Privileges) (Amendment) Order 1985. It shall come into operation on the date on which Annex XV to the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the Specialized Agencies of the United Nations comes into force for the United Kingdom. That date shall be notified in the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes.

Section 2

The Specialized Agencies of the United Nations (Immunities and Privileges) Order 1974 (hereinafter referred to as the Order) shall be amended by the addition at the end of Schedule 1 (international organisations to which the Order applies, and high officers of such organisations enjoying privileges and immunities under Article 15 of the Order) of the following:

World Intellectual Property Organization

The Director-General

Any Deputy Director-General

Any official acting on behalf of the Director-General during his absence from duty

Section 3

The World Intellectual Property Organisation (Immunities and Privileges) Order 1968 is hereby revoked.
