Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong (Legislative Powers) Order 1986.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on 26th August 1986.

Section 2 Additional powers of the legislature of Hong Kong

The Governor of Hong Kong, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, may, in addition to any other power conferred on the legislature of Hong Kong—

(a) repeal or amend any enactment so far as it is part of the law of Hong Kong;

(b) make laws having extra-territorial operation,

being an enactment or laws relating to—

(i) civil aviation,

(ii) merchant shipping,

(iii) admiralty jurisdiction.
