Section 1
These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 1986 and shall come into operation on 29th September 1986.

Section 2
For Schedule 2 (Community Directives relating to the design, construction, equipment and marking of vehicles or vehicle components and Council Regulations on the harmonization of certain social legislation relating to road transport) to the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) Regulations 1980 there is substituted the Schedule set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
Section 3
(1) Regulation 4 of the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 1982 is revoked.
(2) The Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1982 , the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 1984 and the Motor Vehicles (Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 1985 are revoked.
