The Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Amendment) Regulations 1986

Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Amendment) Regulations 1986 and shall come into operation on 31st December 1986.

Section 2

In these Regulations “ the 1979 Regulations ” means the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) Regulations 1979

Section 3

The 1979 Regulations shall be further amended by substituting for paragraph (2A) of regulation 4 the following paragraph:—

(2A)

(a) An approval or nomination shall be issued—

(i) in the case of an approval or nomination issued between 31st October and 31st December in any year, for a period ending on 31st January in the Second year following the year of issue, and

(ii) in the case of any other approval or nomination, for a period ending on 31st January in the year following the year of issue.

(b) An approval or nomination issued and not withdrawn may, on application before the date of its expiry, be renewed for a further period ending on 31st January next following and thereafter for successive periods so ending.

Section 4

(1) Any approval or nomination issued pursuant to the provisions of regulation 4(2A)(b) of the 1979 Regulations before the coming into operation of these Regulations—

(a) if issued before 30th September 1986 shall be treated as having been issued for a period ending on 31st January 1987, and

(b) if issued after 30th September 1986 shall be treated as having been issued for a period ending on 31st January 1988.

(2) Any approval or nomination renewed pursuant to the provisions of regulation 4(2A)(c) of the 1979 Regulations before the coming into operation of these Regulations shall be treated as having been renewed for a period ending on 31st January 1987.

Section 5

The Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Amendment) Regulations 1985 is hereby revoked.
