Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Sex Discrimination Act 1986 (Commencement) Order 1986.

Section 2

Sections 7 and 8 of, and Part III of the Schedule to, the Act shall come into operation to the extent that they relate to the repeals set out in the Schedule to this Order on 27th February 1987.

Section 3

Section 7(3) of the Act, to the extent that it provides for the amendment of section 89(9)(a) of the Factories Act 1961 (by substituting for the words from “no woman” to “young person” the words “no young person shall be employed” ), shall also come into operation on 27th February 1987.
