In regulation 6 (appointment of deputies) there shall be made the following amendments—
(a) in paragraph (1) for the word “appointed” there shall be substituted the word “nominated” ;
(b) for paragraph (2) there shall be substituted the following paragraph—
(2) Any person nominated pursuant to paragraph (1) above may, if subsequently appointed by the Secretary of State, act as a member of the Advisory Committee of which the office-holder is a member in the place of that office-holder until either—
(a) the relevant office-holder ceases to hold office, or
(b) the Secretary of State notifies such person in writing that his appointment pursuant to this paragraph is terminated,
whichever is the first to occur.
and
(c) after paragraph (2) there shall be inserted the following additional paragraph—
(3) Without prejudice to the generality of paragraph (2)(b) of this regulation the Secretary of State may in particular terminate such appointment at the request of the relevant office-holder if that office-holder either nominates some other person to be his deputy or proposes to the Secretary of State that he wishes to attend future meetings of the Advisory Committee himself.
