These regulations may be cited as the Welfare of Livestock (Prohibited Operations) (Amendment) Regulations 1987 and shall come into operation on the day after the day on which they are made.

The Welfare of Livestock (Prohibited Operations) (Amendment) Regulations 1987
The Welfare of Livestock (Prohibited Operations) Regulations 1982 shall be amended as follows:—
(a) after regulation 3 (prohibited Operations) there shall be inserted the following regulation—
(3A) Subject to the provisions of regulation 4(a) no person shall perform, or cause or permit to be performed, the following operation in relation to sheep for the time being situated on agricultural land, namely tooth grinding of sheep.
(b) for paragraph (a) of regulation 4 (exemptions) there shall be substituted the following paragraph—
(a) any act lawfully done under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986
