Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Heather and Grass etc. (Burning) (Amendment) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 14th August 1987.

Section 2 Amendment of Principal Regulations

The Heather and Grass etc. (Burning) Regulations 1986 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Regulations”) shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions.

Section 3 Amendment of Principal Regulations

In regulation 2(1) of the principal Regulations (interpretation) there shall be inserted before the definition of “the Minister” the following definition:—

“London Regional Transport” means London Regional Transport or any body corporate which is its subsidiary within the meaning of section 68 of the London Regional Transport Act 1984 ;

Section 4 Amendment of Principal Regulations

For the words “London Transport Executive”, wherever they appear in the principal Regulations, there shall be substituted the words “London Regional Transport”.

Section 5 Amendment of Principal Regulations

In regulation 5(2)(c) of the principal Regulations (regulation of burning during any period of the year), there shall be substituted for the reference to “72 hours” a reference to “7 days”.
