Section 1 Citation, interpretation and commencement

This Order, which may be cited as the Medicines (Products Other Than Veterinary Drugs) (Prescription Only) Amendment (No. 2) Order 1987, amends the Medicines (Products Other Than Veterinary Drugs) (Prescription Only) Order 1983 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”) and shall come into force on 24th July 1987.

Section 2 Amendment of Part I of Schedule 1 to the principal Order

In Part I of Schedule 1 to the principal Order (which lists substances which render a medicinal product a prescription only medicine except in circumstances also listed)—

(a) in column 1, for the words “Inosine Franobex”, there are substituted the words “Inosine Pranobex”; and

(b) in column 2 of the entry relating to Podophyllum Resin, for the maximum strength “2.0 per cent”, there is substituted the maximum strength “20.0 per cent”.

Section 3 Amendment of Part IV of Schedule 1 to the principal Order

In Part IV of Schedule 1 to the principal Order (which lists the name and product licence number of medicinal products that are not prescription only medicines)—

(a) after the entry relating to “Beechams Hydrocortisone Cream 0079/0203” there is inserted, “Boots Hydrocortisone Ointment 0014/0364”;

(b) after the entry relating to “Efcortelan P Ointment 1% 0004/0326” there is inserted, “Evacort Cream 0039/0198”; and

(c) the entry relating to “Cortovate Hydrocortisone Cream 1% 0039/0198” is deleted.
