Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Pensioners' Lump Sum Payments Order 1987 and shall come into force on 7th December 1987.

(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Pensioners' Payments and Social Security Act 1979.

Section 2 Substitution in the Act for references to the relevant week and to the passing of the Act

Sections 1 to 3 of the Act shall have effect as if—

(a) for references to the relevant week there were substituted references to the week beginning 7th December 1987, and

(b) for references to the passing of the Act there were substituted references to the making of this Order.
