Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Marking of Special Weights) (Amendment) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 1st January 1988.

Section 2

The Road Vehicles (Marking of Special Weights) Regulations 1983 are hereby amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.

Section 3

In regulation 2(2) there shall be added after the word “position”:

“ and all letters and figures shown on the plate shall be not less than 4 millimetres in height.”.

Section 4

In regulation 3(1) for “12 miles per hour” there shall be substituted:

each of the following—

12 miles per hour;

20 miles per hour;

25 miles per hour;

30 miles per hour;

35 miles per hour;

40 miles per hour,
