Section 1Citation and commencement
These Regulations may be cited as the Town and Country Planning (British Coal Corporation) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 11th December 1987.

Section 2Compensation for British Coal Corporation
In Schedule 1 to the Town and Country Planning (National Coal Board) (Scotland) Regulations 1975( ), in column (2) of the entry relating to section 226 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1972, there shall be inserted after paragraph 1—
(1A) After subsection (1)(a) insert: “Provided that the British Coal Corporation shall not be entitled to compensation in respect of the refusal, or the grant subject to conditions, of planning permission for the working of coal by opencast operations;”.
