(1) A person who immediately before the coming into force of this Order was entitled to be or was registered under section 15(1)(a) of the Dentists Act 1984 by virtue of a qualification awarded in the Republic of Ireland shall not cease to be so entitled or so registered by reason only of the repeal by Article 2(a) of this Order of part of section 3(3) of the Dentists Act 1984.
(2) A person who before 1st January 1994 is awarded a qualification by a university or other body in the Republic of Ireland which but for the said repeal would have entitled him to be registered under section 15(1)(a) of the Dentists Act 1984 shall, if he applies in accordance with paragraph (3) of this Article, be entitled to be so registered as if section 3(3) of that Act remained fully in force, provided that he commenced the course of training leading to that qualification before the coming into force of this Order.
(3) An application for registration by a person entitled to be registered under paragraph (1) or (2) of this Article shall be made to the Registrar of the General Dental Council and any application for registration under the said paragraph (2) shall be made not later than 1st January 1994.
