Section 1Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Building Societies (Limit on Non-Retail Funds and Deposits) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st January 1988.

Section 2Limit on liabilities in respect of non-retail funds and deposits

The prescribed percentage for the purposes of section 7(3) of the Building Societies Act 1986 (which requires that the liabilities of a building society in respect of its non-retail funds and deposits shall not exceed at any time the prescribed percentage of the society’s total liabilities at that time in respect of shares in or money deposited with it) shall be 40 per cent.
