The Prison (Amendment No. 2) Rules 1987

Section 1

These Rules may be cited as the Prison (Amendment No. 2) Rules 1987 and shall come into force on 1st March 1988.

Section 2

The Prison Rules 1964 shall be amended as follows:

(a) in rule 21 paragraph (1) and the words “convicted” in paragraphs (2) and (3) shall be deleted;

(b) in rule 22(1) the words “, or under Rule 21(1) of these Rules” shall be deleted;

(c) in rules 50(g) and 51(4)(g) the words “any of the following:— (i) the right to be supplied with food and drink under Rule 21(1) of these Rules; and (ii)” shall be deleted; and

(d) in rule 63(1) for the words “Rules 20(1) and” there shall be substituted the word “Rule”.
