Section 1 Title and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Movement and Sale of Pigs (Amendment) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 10th March 1987.

Section 2 Amendment

The Movement and Sale of Pigs Order 1975 shall be amended as follows:—

(a) at the end of article 2(3) (movements of pigs exempt from movement restrictions) there shall be added the following sub-paragraph:—

(f) movement of pigs for breeding purposes under the authority of a licence issued under article 5 of this Order, being a licence in the form set out in Schedule 4, and the return home of those pigs under the authority of such a licence.

(b) in article 5(3) (licences for movements of pigs)—

(i) after the words “to which the licence is to relate” there shall be inserted the words “or his agent authorised in writing for this purpose”; and

(ii) after the words “at which the mating is to take place” there shall be inserted the words “or his agent authorised in writing for this purpose”; and

(c) for Schedule 5 (form of declarations to be made before a licence for the movement of pigs will be issued) there shall be substituted the Schedule to this Order.
