Section 1 Title and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Designation of Local Authority (Portsmouth Port Health District) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 24th April 1987.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order:—

“Portsmouth Port Health Authority” means the District Council of Portsmouth in its capacity as a port health authority;

“Portsmouth Port Health District” means those parts of the County of Hampshire which under and by virtue of the Portsmouth Port Orders 1893 and 1938 are under the jurisdiction of the Portsmouth Port Health Authority.

Section 3 Designation

In relation to the Portsmouth Port Health District the local authority for the purpose of the provisions of the Animal Health Act 1981 relating to imported animals shall be the Portsmouth Port Health Authority.
