Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the British Waterways Board (Rateable Values) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1988 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order, “the principal Order ” means the British Waterways Board (Rateable Values) (Scotland) Order 1985( ).

Section 3 Amendment of principal Order

In respect of the year 1989-90, the principal Order shall be amended as follows—

(a) in article 2(1), in the definition of “the Index”, for the word “Index” there shall be substituted “General Index” ;

(b) in article 3(1)(b)—

(i) for the words “for the year 1986-87 and subsequent years” there shall be substituted “for the year 1989-90”, and

(ii) in the definition of “b”, for the words “the Index for September of that year” there shall be substituted “98.3” .
