The Textile Products (Determination of Composition) Regulations 1976 are hereby amended as follows:
(a) for the definitions in regulation 2(1) there shall be substituted— ““B.S. 4407” means the British Standard of that number published by the British Standards Institution on 29th July 1988; and “textile product” has the same meaning as in the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1986.” ;
(b) in regulation 3, for the references to the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1973 there shall be substituted references to the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1986;
(c) in regulation 5, for “section five” there shall be substituted “Appendix A”;
(d) for regulation 7, there shall be substituted—
(7) Regulations 5(3) and 6 shall have effect as if methods 14 and 17 were omitted from section four of B.S. 4407;
Provided that nothing in this regulation shall be taken as prohibiting the use of method 14 or 17 in appropriate cases.
(e) in Schedule 1, in paragraph 7, for “Regulation 3(4) of the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1973” there shall be substituted “regulation 5(4) of the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1986”; and
(f) in Schedule 2, in paragraph 1, for “7(1)(d) of Schedule 1 to the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1973 (that is to say, fatty substances, bindings, sizings, dressings, additional dyeing and printing products and other textile processing products)” there shall be substituted “7(1)(f) of Schedule 1 to the Textile Products (Indications of Fibre Content) Regulations 1986 (that is to say, fatty substances, binders, weightings, sizings and dressings, impregnating products, additional dyeing and printing products and other textile processing products”.
