Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Specified Periods) (Wales) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on9th September.

Section 2 Application

These Regulations apply only to work to be carried out in Wales.Specified Periods

Section 3 Application

(1) In the case of an authority without education functions mentioned or described in Part I of the Schedule hereto, the second condition, set out in section 7(3) of the Local Government Act 1988, shall not be treated as fulfilled as respects an activity mentioned in column 1 of Part II of that Schedule if the period stated in the detailed specification by virtue of section 7(3)(c) is less than the period mentioned in column 2 of that Part or exceeds the period mentioned in column 3.

(2) In the case of an authority with education functions mentioned or described inPart I of the Schedule hereto, the second condition, set out in section 7(3) of the Local Government Act 1988 shall not be treated as fulfilled as respects an activity mentioned in column 1 of Part III of that Schedule if the period so stated in the detailed specification by virtue of section 7(3)(c) is less than the period mentioned in column 2 of that Part or exceeds the period mentioned in column 3.
