This Order may be cited as the West Strathclyde Protection Order 1988 and shall come into force on 7th October 1988.

The West Strathclyde Protection Order 1988
In this Order, “the map” means the map marked “Area of the West Strathclyde Protection Order 1988”, signed on behalf of the Secretary of State for Scotland and deposited in the principal office of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland in Edinburgh.
Fishing for or taking freshwater fish in inland waters in the area prescribed in article 4 hereof, without legal right or without written permission from a person having such a right, is hereby prohibited.
The prescribed area shall consist of the catchment areas in Strathclyde Region of the Rivers Annick, Irvine, Gogo Water, Noddsdale Water and certain other waters, and that part of the catchment area of the River Garnock which excludes the waters below the march fence to the south of Dalgarven Mill at Ordnance Survey NS 2965-4564 and the Lugton Water below the footbridge at Montgreenan Mains at Ordnance Survey NS 3417-4490 to its confluence with the River Garnock, and is delineated by a continuous blue line on the map.
