Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Dover (Pilotage) Harbour Revision Order 1988 and shall come into force on 22nd December 1988.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“The Board” means the Dover Harbour Board;

“the harbour” means the harbour as defined in section 4 of the Dover Harbour Consolidation Act 1954 ;

“the signed plan” means the plan signed in triplicate by an Under Secretary in the Department of Transport, two copies of which have been deposited at the Department and one copy of which has been deposited at the offices of the Board situated at the Harbour House, Dover, Kent, CT17 9BU.

Section 3 Extension of limits of jurisdiction for purposes of pilotage

The limits within which the Board shall have jurisdiction for the purposes of Pilotage under Part I of the Pilotage Act 1987 shall include (in addition to the harbour) the area coloured yellow on the signed plan, being so much of the sea as lies within one international nautical mile of the seaward limits of the harbour.
