Section 1 Citation, commencement and revocation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Certification Officer (Amendment of Fees) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 1st April 1988.

(2) The Certification Officer (Amendment of Fees) Regulations 1987( ) are hereby revoked.

Section 2 Amendment of fees payable to the Certification Officer

(1) In paragraph (1) of regulation 3 of the Trade Unions and Employers' Associations (Amalgamations, etc.) Regulations 1975( ) (the “1975 Regulations”), after the word “Regulations,” there shall be inserted the words “by the fee prescribed by Regulation 11(1)”.

(2) For regulation 11 of the 1975 Regulations there shall be substituted the following regulation:—

(1) The fee referred to in Regulation 3(1) (fee to accompany an application for approval of a proposed instrument of amalgamation or transfer) shall be £175.

(2) The following fees shall be payable in advance—

Section 3 Amendment of fees payable to the Certification Officer

In section 8(4) of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1974 for the words “£26” (fee on application by an organisation of workers or of employers to have its name entered in the list of trade unions or employers' associations, as the case may be) there shall be substituted the words “£40”.

Section 4 Amendment of fees payable to the Certification Officer

In section 8(2) of the Employment Protection Act 1975 for the words “£156” (fee on application by a trade union for a certificate of independence) there shall be substituted the words “£194”.
