The Tayside, Fife and Central Regions and Perth and Kinross, Dunfermline and Clackmannan Districts (Solsgirth) Boundaries Amendment Order 1988

Section 1 Title and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Tayside, Fife and Central Regions and Perth and Kinross, Dunfermline and Clackmannan Districts (Solsgirth) Boundaries Amendment Order 1988, and shall come into force on 1st April 1988.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“the 1977 Regulations ” means the Local Government Area Changes (Scotland) Regulations 1977( ); and

“boundary map” means the map prepared by the Scottish Office, marked “The Tayside, Fife and Central Regions and Perth and Kinross, Dunfermline and Clackmannan Districts (Solsgirth) Boundaries Amendment Order 1988 Map” and deposited in accordance with regulation 3 of the 1977 Regulations;

and, in the Schedule to this Order, any reference to a boundary of a region is a reference to a boundary existing immediately before the commencement of this Order.

Section 3 Application of Regulations

Save insofar as they can have no application in relation to the area changes effected by this Order, the provisions of the 1977 Regulations shall apply in relation thereto for the purposes of, or in consequence of, this Order.

Section 4 Area changes

(1) Part of Perth and Kinross District in Tayside Region, being the Area A described in the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated, hatched and marked “Area A” on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Clackmannan District in Central Region.

(2) Part of Dunfermline District in Fife Region, being the Area B described in the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated, hatched and marked “Area B” on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Clackmannan District in Central Region.

Section 5 Consequential changes of electoral arrangements

(1) Area A described in the Schedule to this Order (being the area transferred by article 4(1) of this Order)—

(a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 46 (Kinross) of Tayside Region( ) and of ward 28 (West Kinross) of Perth and Kinross District( ); and

(b) shall form part of electoral division 2 (Forthbank) of Central Region( ) and of ward 4 (Clackmannan) of Clackmannan District( ).

(2) Area B described in the Schedule to this Order (being the area transferred by article 4(2) of this Order)—

(a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 30 (Dunfermline Linburn) of Fife Region( ) and of ward 4 (Saline Oakley) of Dunfermline District( ); and

(b) shall form part of electoral division 2 (Forthbank) of Central Region and of ward 4 (Clackmannan) of Clackmannan District.
