Section 1
These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Maintenance of Seamen’s Dependants) (Amendment) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 11th April 1988.

Section 2
The Merchant Shipping (Maintenance of Seamen’s Dependants) Regulations 1972 shall be amended by replacing in regulation 4(a) the reference to “the Ministry of Social Security Act 1966” by a reference to “the Social Security Act 1986” .
