Section 1

(1) This Order may be cited as the Commissioners for Oaths (Fees) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 23rd May 1988.

(2) In this Order “commissioners for oaths” includes a solicitor exercising the powers of a commissioner for oaths under section 81 of the Solicitors Act 1974.

Section 2

(1) Subject to paragraph (2), the following fees shall be charged by commissioners for oaths:—

(2) Where value added tax is payable by a commissioner for oaths supplying a service for which a fee is prescribed under paragraph (1), he shall charge for that service a fee of such an amount as, with the addition of the tax, is equal to the amount so prescribed.

Section 3

The Commissioners for Oaths (Fees) Order 1984 is hereby revoked, save as to any fee due or payable before the coming into force of this Order.
