Section 1

These Regulations may be cited as the Cubic Measures (Ballast and Agricultural Materials) (Amendment) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 1st July 1988.

Section 2

The Cubic Measures (Ballast and Agricultural Materials) Regulations 1978 are hereby amended as follows —

(a) in regulation 4(1), by deleting the figure and symbol “1 m 23 ” and substituting therefor the figure and symbol “10 m 23 ”; and

(b) in regulation 6, by deleting subparagraph (b) of paragraph (2) and substituting therefor the following subparagraph —

(b) have its longer sides connected to the base by bevelled or curved sections (and the corners of the other sides reduced accordingly) provided that the effect is not to reduce the width of the base to less than three-quarters of the width at the top.
