The Prison (Amendment) Rules 1988

Section 1

(1) These Rules may be cited as the Prison (Amendment) Rules 1988 and shall come into force on 1st March 1988.

(2) The Prison (Amendment No. 2) Rules 1987 are hereby revoked.

Section 2

The Prison Rules 1964 shall be amended as follows—

(a) in rule 21 paragraph (1) and the words “convicted” in paragraphs (2) and (3) shall be deleted;

(b) in rule 22(1) the words “, or under Rule 21(1) of these Rules” shall be deleted; and

(c) in rules 50(g) and 51(4)(g) the words

any of the following—

(i) the right to be supplied with food and drink under Rule 21(1) of these Rules; and

(ii) shall be deleted.
