(1) This Order may be cited as the Summer Time Order 1988 and shall come into force on the fourteenth day after the day on which it is made.
(2) This Order shall have effect in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

In relation to the year 1989, the period of summer time for the purposes of the Summer Time Act 1972 shall be the period beginning at one o'clock, Greenwich mean time, in the morning of 26th March 1989 and ending at one o'clock, Greenwich mean time, in the morning of 29th October 1989 instead of the period specified in section 1 of that Act.
