Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Water Reorganisation (Pensions etc.) (Designated Persons) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 1st September 1989.

Section 2 Persons designated for the purposes of section 173(1)(b) of the Water Act 1989

(1) The persons referred to in paragraph (2), who appear to the Secretaries of State to be persons whose activities at a time before the transfer date consisted in, or were connected with, the carrying out of functions which are transferred by the Water Act 1989 or which correspond to such functions or to other functions under that Act, are designated for the purposes of section 173(1)(b) of that Act (payments to pension funds in respect of former officers and employees of designated persons).

(2) The persons mentioned in paragraph (1) are–

(a) British Water International Limited;

(b) Foundation for Water Research;

(c) International Association on Water Pollution Research and Control;

(d) International Water Supply Association;

(e) The Water Authorities Association;

(f) Water Research Centre (1989) plc; and

(g) Water Training.
