Section 1Citation and commencement
These Regulations may be cited as the Housing Action Trust Areas (Tenant Notification) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 17th August 1989.

Section 2Prescribed descriptions of tenants
The descriptions of tenants prescribed for the purposes of section 61(2) of the Housing Act 1988 are tenants of a local housing authority whose tenancies would be secure tenancies but for the effect of—
(a) paragraphs 1 (long leases), 9 (licensed premises) or 11 (1954 Act tenancies) of Schedule 1 to the Housing Act 1985 ; or
(b) in the case of a tenant who is an employee of the local housing authority, paragraph 2(1) (premises occupied in connection with employment) of that Schedule.
