Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Scholarships and Other Benefits (Amendment) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 1st September 1989.

Section 2 Amendment of the Scholarships and Other Benefits Regulations 1977

(1) In the definition of “school” in regulation 2(1) of the Scholarships and Other Benefits Regulations 1977 , for the words “the Education Acts 1944 to 1976” there shall be substituted the words “the Education Acts 1944 to 1988”.

(2) In regulation 4(a) of those Regulations, for the words “or special schools” there shall be substituted the words “, grant-maintained schools or special schools”.
