Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Housing Benefit (Permitted Totals) Amendment Order 1989 and shall come into force on 9th October 1989.Amendment of the Housing Benefit (Permitted Totals) Order 1988

Section 2 Citation and commencement

The Housing Benefit (Permitted Totals) Order 1988 shall be amended—

(a) in article 1(2) (interpretation) by inserting after “rate rebate” the words “(or, in Scotland, community charge rebate)” ; and

(b) in article 2 (permitted totals of benefit) by substituting for “(additional amount of benefit in exceptional circumstances)” the words “and regulation 57 of the Housing Benefit (Community Charge Rebates) (Scotland) Regulations 1988 (increase of benefit paid in exceptional circumstances)”.
