The Education (Higher Education Corporations) (No. 5) Order 1989

Section 1

This Order may be cited as the Education (Higher Education Corporations) (No. 5) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 31st January 1989.

Section 2

The Southampton Institute of Higher Education is hereby specified as an institution maintained by a local education authority which appears to the Secretary of State to fall within section 121(2) of the Education Reform Act 1988.

Section 3

In relation to the corporation established under section 121 of the said Act of 1988 by virtue of this Order the transfer date for the purposes of section 126 of that Act shall be 1st April 1989.

Section 4

The County Council of Hampshire is hereby specified as the local authority entitled to nominate a local authority nominee as an initial nominee member of the said corporation.
